Analysis on China Titanium Dioxide Production Data of April 2023
According to the statistics data from LYDD, the production of titanium dioxide in China in April 2023 was 353,400 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 1.38%, a year-on-year increase of 3.90%. The accumulated production of titanium dioxide from January to April was 1,320,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.35%.
In April, due to the reduction in raw material supply, the production volume of a major titanium dioxide factory declined slightly. In response to market influence, another company limited production, but some previously reduced production companies restored production, resulting in an increase in production volume. Overall, the domestic production volume of titanium dioxide showed a small decline in April.
The top three regions in terms of production volume in March were Sichuan Province, Shandong Province, and Henan Province, accounting for 21%, 17%, and 13% of total production respectively.
The production volume of chloride titanium dioxide was 61,400 tons in April, with stable output capacity for companies using chlorination progress method, leading to continued increase in market volume. From January to April 2023, the cumulative production volume of chloride titanium dioxide reached 209,300 tons, increasing by 10.89% year on year.
In April, the titanium dioxide market operated weakly due to poor domestic demand. Enterprises faced greater pressure in domestic sales and inventories increased slightly. By the end of the month, individual companies slightly adjusted their prices, while the export market remained good, and many companies continued to maintain full production. It is expected that titanium white production in May will remain stable.
