Can polypropylene tableware be used in a microwave?
FDA
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined the amount of harmful substances that various plastic containers may release into food during normal microwave heating. It is required that this amount be less than one percent or even one thousandth of the harmful dose determined in animal experiments before it can be labeled as "microwave heatable". So, for plastic containers that are qualified for "microwave heating", it is quite safe.
PPPolypropylene plastic (PP)
Polypropylene plastic (PP) is another excellent resin variety developed after nylon. It is a high-density, side chain free, high crystalline polymer with excellent comprehensive properties. When not colored, it appears white, translucent, waxy, and lighter than polyethylene. The transparency is also better than polyethylene, and it is harder than polyethylene. characteristics of Polypropylene plastic (PP)are high heat resistance, toughness, shock resistance, and good acid and alkali resistance. At room temperature, Polypropylene plastic (PP) is insoluble in organic solvents and will not dissolve even after long-term immersion in organic solvents.
PP
Given the above characteristics, polypropylene plastic PP is the only plastic container material that can be placed in a microwave oven and can be reused as a storage container for food, oils, and condiments.
