The accumulated production of titanium dioxide was 966,700 tons, a decrease of 9.26% year-on-year, with a decreased production of 5.75%.
In March, the production capacity of titanium dioxide factories increased, combined with a gradual recovery of production from the previously reduced production enterprises, resulting in increased output in most regions. Although factories in East China stopped production in the latter half of March, the overall production growth was still significant.
The top three regions in terms of production volume in March were Sichuan Province, Shandong Province, and Henan Province, accounting for 25%, 15%, and 13% of total production respectively.
In March, the production of chloride titanium dioxide was 53,200 tons, and chloride enterprises resumed full production. The chloride production capacity steadily increased, and the market share also gradually increased. In the first quarter of 2023, the cumulative production of chloride titanium dioxide was 147,900 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.72%.
In March, the price of titanium dioxide remained high, and enterprises delivered previous orders one after another, leading to an increase in the opening of enterprises in the market. Affected by a black swan event in the latter half of March, the export market for titanium dioxide was favored, and enterprises received more export orders. With the recovery of production from large factories in April, the market output is expected to continue to remain at a high level.
