Zhejiang Maritime Safety Administration Launches Level III Typhoon Emergency Response

As the 13th typhoon of the year, "White Dolphin," approaches China's coastal areas, the Zhejiang Maritime Safety Administration initiated a Level 3 typhoon emergency response at 8:00 PM on August 5. Emergency forces across the region have been pre-deployed, coordinating 12 high-powered tugboats from the East China Sea Rescue Bureau and CNOOC, along with 171 social tugboats, to be stationed along the coast for rapid response to various emergencies. As of 8:00 PM on the 5th, all 193 hydraulic engineering projects across Zhejiang have been suspended, and 474 construction vessels have successively moved to safe anchorage areas to avoid the storm.
Nanji Island and Beiji Island, popular summer tourist destinations in Wenzhou, have seen a significant influx of tourists. The Wenzhou Maritime Safety Administration, in collaboration with the local government, organized the evacuation of people from the islands, deploying main maritime patrol vessels to escort passenger ships in key waterways, ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the routes. As of 5:00 PM on the 5th, 1,698 people from Nanji Island and 66 people from Beiji Island have been safely evacuated, and both passenger ferry routes have been suspended.
