"China Yangpu Port" ships exceed 100
On August 18, with the registration of the vessel "Guoxin Hai" at the Hainan International Ship Registration Administration, the number of ships registered under "China Yangpu Port" exceeded 100, with a total carrying capacity of over 8.9 million deadweight tons, leading the nation’s free trade zones (ports) in terms of ship quantity and capacity scale.
Leveraging the policy benefits of Hainan Free Trade Port, such as "zero tariff" on imports, VAT rebates for newly built ships, and "double 15%" income tax incentives, shipping market entities are accelerating their concentration in Yangpu, Hainan. On June 1, 2020, the vessel "COSCO Shipping Prosperity" became the first cargo ship registered with "China Yangpu Port" as its port of registry. As of now, the number of ships registered under "China Yangpu Port" has reached 101, with a total tonnage exceeding 5.2 million. Currently, the fleet structure of "China Yangpu Port" has expanded from traditional bulk carriers and container ships to refrigerated ships, semi-submersible vessels, and offshore engineering ships, maintaining a zero detention record. Safe and reliable ships account for 43.6%, ranking first nationwide.
As the nation's first international ship registration management institution, the Hainan International Ship Registration Administration has been driving institutional integration and innovation for "China Yangpu Port" since its approval on November 29, 2024. It has introduced 10 services, including "online processing, cloud assistance, and special handling," and collaborated with multiple departments to achieve "one-stop processing" for 33 administrative matters, reducing required materials by over 60%. Core business processing times have been compressed to "hour-level" and "minute-level," improving efficiency by 90%. This innovative case has been included in the Hainan Free Trade Port's institutional integration innovation list.
Within this year, the company owning the newly registered vessel "Guoxin Hai" plans to register 14 newly built ships under "China Yangpu Port," with a total carrying capacity exceeding 1.1 million deadweight tons. A relevant official from the Hainan Maritime Safety Administration stated that they will continue to deepen institutional integration and innovation, improve the quality control system, explore internationally aligned regulatory models, and promote the linkage of international ship registration policies with financial and insurance services, striving to build a world-class international ship registration brand.
